The Therabrasion Protocol




Supplies Needed
Facial Sponges (2) – Universal Catalog
Tissues – Unscented White
Q tips (2)
4×4 soft gauze sponges
Head Band
Hand towel
Giovan 2 products (10)

Before beginning the Giovan 2 Italian Therabrasion and Acid Skin Resurfacing the patient should stop the use of all products containing AHA and Retinoids for 48 hours. The patient should remove contact lenses, if applicable, and keep their eyes closed during the course of the treatment. If there is a question of allergies to any of the ingredients rub a small amount of product on the inner forearm and observe for any adverse reaction.

Step 1: Face Cleansing – approximately 2-3 minutes
1 – Use Daily Face Cleanser and Makeup Remover (bottle #1)
2 – Product should be applied with dry hands to dry face
3 – Place a quarter size amount of product in the palm of the hand
4 – Spread liberally over face, neck and chest
5 – Massage using the fingertips to loosen makeup and grime
6 – Remove with moist sponges
7 – Repeat as needed
8 – Do not dry the face

 


 
Step 2: Mapping Stage (pre-microdermabrasion) – approximately 2-3 minutes
1 – Use Corindone (bottle #2)
2 – Apply with moist hands to moist skin
3 – Squeeze a quarter size amount of product in the palm of the hand
4 – Apply evenly over the face, neck and chest
5 – Massage with the fingertips until a mild foaming action is obtained
6 – Identify areas of skin imperfections, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles both visually and manually needing special attention in the following steps
7 – Remove completely with moist sponges
8 – Blot dry with tissues or soft gauze

Step 3: Superficial Microdermabrasion – approximately 3-4 minutes
1 – Use Cosmepeel bottle #4
2 – Note there is no bottle labeled #3
3 – The aesthetician’s hands and patient’s face must be dry
4 – Squeeze a quarter size amount of Cosmepeel in the palm
5 – Gently hold the palms together for 10-15 seconds to warm the product before applying
6 – Using both hands, apply evenly to the face, neck, and chest
7 – Starting at the chest, massage until an oily “slide” is obtained
8 – Systematically work upwards to the neck, face, and forehead as in the previous step
9 – Remove completely with moist sponges using a dabbing and wiping technique
10 – Frequently rinse the sponges under cool running water as crystals may become imbedded in the sponges
11 – Blot Dry

Step 4: Deep Microdermabrasion – approximately 3-4 minutes
1 – Use Epipeel bottle #5
2 – Follow all the steps described above in step 3
3- Prior to removing the Epipeel, place a small amount on the back of the hand. Stretch the area to be worked on identified during the mapping stage (step 2) between the index finger and thumb; using a Q-tip gently rub areas of hyperpigmentation, crows feet, fine lines under the eyes, fines lines and wrinkles around the lips, etc. using both vertical and horizontal strokes
4 – Completely remove the product as described above
5 – Blot Dry

EXTRACTIONS MAY BE DONE HERE

Step 5: Therapeutic Acid Skin Resurfacing
1 – Take a packet of Dermopeel and knead for a few seconds to mix any oils that may have separated prior to opening
2 – Open packet and squeeze into palm of hand. Apply Dermopeel III to face, neck and chest and gently pat in until completely absorbed
3 – A mild tingling or stinging may occur
4 – Do not Remove


Step 6: Nutrients
1 – Apply two pumps each of the Skin Renewing Serum and the Vitamin Repairing Serum into the palm.
2 – Gently rub the palms together to mix the liquids and apply evenly to the face, neck and chest
3 – Gently pat in until completely absorbed
4 – Do not remove

Step 7: Vasoconstricting Mask – leave on 10 minutes
1 – Prior to applying the Vasoconstricting Mask, saturate two open 4×4 sponges with Dermopeel Normalizer bottle #7 and set aside
2 – Squeeze a tablespoon amount of Vasoconstricting Mask bottle #9 in the palm and apply quickly to face and neck using fingers
3 – A mild burning sensation may be felt
4 – Cover the entire face with pre-moistened 4×4 sponges and leave in place
5 – Remove the gauze and as much mask as possible
6 – Remove any residual mask by moistening the mask with cool water and wipe away with a sponges
7 – Blot Dry

Step 8: Hydration and Protection
1 – Squeeze a nickel size amount of Lycopene Cream onto the fingertips and apply evenly to the face, neck, and chest area.
2 – Massage in until completely absorbed

Post Procedure Instructions
1 – Avoid using retinoids or products containing AHA or Vitamin C for at least 48 hrs or as instructed by the physician
2 – Avoid the use of Biore or Snore strips for 48 hrs
3 – Avoid direct sunlight for 48 hrs
4 – Avoid hot air from a blow dryer coming in contact with treated area for 48 hrs
5 – Avoid swimming in the ocean or pool for 48 hrs

Home Care Product Suggestions – Retail
1 – Crema Rinnovante Lycopene – Apply daily for deep hydration, UV protection and anti-aging.
2 – Dermopeel Cream – Use nightly to maintain the beneficial effects of the facial. Apply to areas of hyperpigmentation, acne, rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles.
